The International HTG Beit Din

The International HTG Beit Din ("House of Judgment") is a body of Torah-observant Messianist Zakenim ("Elders") formed in 2014 in accordance with the Torah (Deut 16:18; Exod 18:19-26). This Beit Din exists as a Head Office to resolve halachic issues and other matters Scripturally assigned to the Beit Din. The Beit Din system is both the Biblical way and the Jewish way for Torah-observant Messianism to establish Halachah and govern itself. The International HTG Beit Din operates in the Biblical tradition of the ancient Beit Din headed by Yakov HaTzadik (James the Just - see Acts 15). It is our prayer that the International HTG Beit Din will be helpful to Torah-observant Messianist everywhere as we work together to re-establish first century Believers' Halachah and endeavour to the unity of the body in the bond of peace.

Summary of the Purpose of the HTG Beit Din

A Beit Din is required or preferred for the following matters:

1) Validation of religious bills of divorce (get).
2) Monitoring Messianic Ordination compliance.
3) Monitoring Messianic Assemblies and Yeshiva’s compliance.
4) Supervising the building and maintenance of a mikvah.
5) Assisting in legal matters – i.e. an individual is forced to work on a Shabbat, etc.
6) A Beit Din is sometimes used to resolve civil disputes, calling for civil cases being resolved by religious instead of
secular courts (arka'oth). Modern Western societies increasingly permit civil disputes to be resolved by private
arbitration, enabling religious Israelites to enter into agreements.
7) Assist with problematic issues in Assemblies and Yeshivas.
